What a day! First we took Greg to get a new outfit, including the belt he picked out that had Maryland flags on it. He said he wanted to be dressed just like me. Then I took him to the Ruth M. Kirk family festival day in Baltimore City where he met Governor Hogan and Lieutenant Governor Rutherford. The look on his face when the Governor shook his hand and started talking to him was priceless, and the first thing Greg wanted to do was show the Governor his Maryland flag belt. It was the cutest thing and the Governor got a real kick out it. People don’t even realize the unbelievably positive impact having a mentor has on “at-risk,” “at- promise” youth which is why I will continue to promote the importance of giving your time to a child in Baltimore City.
